Enjoy the ocean with these free wallpapers
Tropical Fish Theme is a free desktop personalization program that allows you to enjoy high-quality wallpapers on your PC. Developed by Microsoft Corp, this is a collection of HD wallpapers that centers around an aquatic theme.
Similar to Fish and Corals Theme, Tropical Fish Theme is all about sea life and lets you display beautiful images of various underwater fishes on your PC—although it changes many of your personalization settings in one go. However, aside from these free wallpapers, there isn’t much else to this software package. It also only has a few choices available.
A view under the sea
The Tropical Fish Theme collection consists of 9 high-resolution wallpapers that use fish and underwater life as their main centerpiece. These real-life images are beautiful and calming to look at, and run perfectly on Microsoft PCs. They are set to display as a slideshow by default—although while it will say it has 9 images, there’s no option to manually select one for a static background.
Launching this program doesn’t just install the wallpapers, though. It automatically applies a theme that also comes with the classic Windows Aero appearance for your mouse cursor. Your main desktop color will change to teal, as well. However, the PC sounds and other settings will stay the same so you can easily customize them if you want a full-on oceanic experience with your desktop.
There are other downsides to this software, though. It comes as a program already and has no folders containing the wallpapers so you can check them out with an image viewer tool. More specifically, it’s a file with a “.themepack” extension so double-clicking it will only install the whole theme and nothing else. Additionally, you can’t disable all personalization changes in one go with the program.
Feast your eyes on sea life
All in all, Tropical Fish Theme is a nice little desktop theme pack that you can use if you want high-quality wallpapers from Microsoft. While the customization options aren’t really as varied as you’d hope, the images available are still pretty good for a thematic slideshow on your PC. Plus, it automatically applies the appropriate settings to complement the aquatic theme.
